I'm On Vacation! Yippie!

I am currently away from my studio with no access to e-mail. My husband secretly packed our bags and told me that we're leaving for vacation tonight. Wow! This is a total and complete surprise but I have to say that I'm really looking forward to seeing where we're going. I think he knew this would be the only way to get me away from painting and spend quality time with the family.

I will be returning next week so please hold tight for me until next weekend so that I have time to come back home and go through my emails. This will not effect posts on my blog so please feel free to comment on here all you wish! :-) I'll share my vacation pictures with you when I return. Can't wait!

Wow! Did we have quite a storm tonight!

It was about 7:00pm tonight when I was getting ready to leave the house to run an errand and I began to see a twister form in the sky. I couldn't believe what I was seeing so I ran in the house to grab my camera. By the time I came back out I couldn't see the twister anymore because of the roof tops, but I did get some other beautiful images of the storm that was coming in. Lots of thunder and lightening....but it was a beautiful storm nonetheless! These images have not been enhanced at all. This is really how the clouds looked! There was quite a contrast. Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince is coming out July 15th!

I had started reading the Harry Potter books years ago when they first came out. It was my escape late at night when everyone was down, the night was coming to an end, and I needed to forget all about work. The books were fun to read and I had always looked forward to reading the next book that would come out. When I heard that they were making movies of the series I was thrilled, except that once I saw the first Harry Potter movie it was a little 'hoaky'. Each movie got a little bit better and became more interesting to watch (almost as interesting as the books). Now Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince is coming out July 15th and I can't wait to see it! The preview of the movie is amazing! You can click any image blow to enlarge it. My daughter is jazzed about seeing it with her friends.

What a storm we had!

We had the worst storm of the season tonight. Well, actually, the last two days have been the worst. The sky was near black tonight and the winds were fierce reaching up to 70 mph. I had wondered a couple of times after looking out of the window if a tornado was approaching. All of our trees were sideways (thank God none of them broke like many other homes), I could hear the house creaking, and you can see people's tables, chairs, BBQ's and other personal belongings either falling over or blowing down the street. I have never seen a storm this bad before here, nor have I seen so many bad storms in a 48 hour period before. I'm so glad that it's over. I hear that another storm is coming Sunday so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's nothing like the last coupe of days. Anyway, just as the storm was passing, we looked outside once again and couldn't believe the most beautiful sunset peaking out below the covered skies. What a nice ending to such a stressful storm. This is a small reminder to finally clean out my basement as tornado season is fast approaching! Yikes!

Whatever Life Takes Away From You, Let It Go....

Did something ever happen to you in the past that you've had a hard time letting go or someone in your life that you are having a diffucult time forgiving? This advice really hits home with me right now, and couldn't be better said. Hope this works for you too.
